Hello,

We had an unitrends appliance to make some tests.
Unitrends is very limited compared with some other backup tools.

It doesnt integrate with Oracle. All it does is an Oracle dump and moves it
to the backup appliance. You cant do point in time restores with it.

Hope this helps.

Regards,
I am looking to make contact with anyone using UNITRENDS for backing up
and restoring an Oracle database. Can you share your opinions about its
capabilities, etc.

They seem to be using RMAN, so I'm not sure that is accurate?

Hello all,

We have made a POC with unitrends appliance.
We weren't able to configure archivelogs backups. We are only allowed
to configure full and incremental backups.

Being so, if you need point in time restores you will have a problem.

If you check documentation
https://www.unitrends.com/solutions/oracle-backup you can see that:
They only do Full and incremental backups for Oracle.

Try to talk with unitrends (or their local representative) and ask
them about all your doubts.
